Story Problems

I had so much fun with this project. It started as a paper pencil lesson, having the kids write as many story problems as they could think of. We then picked our favorite and wrote a final copy of it with a detailed picture. Next we took it a step further and created the products below with two ipad apps I found this year: Create a Scene - Farm and Educreations!

Hope you enjoy the final project!
* You can find your child's by asking them what their fish spot number is!

Final Writing Unit - Persuasive Writing

Here is my LARGE pile of persuasive writing that the kids FANCIED  up for their final writers workshop pieces of kindergarten! I am so excited to read them and see how much they have grown this year.

For this unit the kids were asked to be like the Lorax:
1) Think of a problem
2) Think of a solution
3) Provide reasons
4) Decide who you are writing to and write ALOT!

For our final writing celebration the students got to read a speech they wrote in front of the whole class. It was a great experience learning how to be a speaker and an audience member! Here are some photos of them doing their final read through before the show!

THANK YOU!

Pop Top Collection:

The kids did a great job bring in pop tops for our classroom collection. They really enjoyed sorting and counting them by tens. We collected 2,958 tops!
They will be donated to Gio's Garden:
The Mission: Gio’s Garden’s mission as a non-profit organization is to nurture and strengthen families with special needs children (birth to 6 years) by increasing their access to needed services.

Thank you so much for your help with this project!

Big News

Today I shared with the students that I am expecting!

It was fun to see their reactions.

Then we took a little vote to guess if they thought the baby would be a girl or a boy;

The results: BOY

PJs and BIG Buddies

Our big buddies picked out a wonderful color by number project to do with us - the tricky part was that we had to do addition problems to figure out the numbers first. Our big buddies were super helpful and even enjoyed coloring along with us!
